Footsteps of Jesus - Israel and Jordan

The Footsteps of Jesus is a wonderful two-week discovery to the places where Jesus lived and ministered. The trip begins at the Sea of Galilee, to the north of Israel, and then to Jerusalem for the re-tracing the steps of Christ’s passion. Travel south to the Red Sea and enjoy the amazing desert sights before crossing over to Jordan to enjoy some leisure time in the land of Lawrence of Arabia and the spectacular Petra, one of the seven wonders of the world.

Each day will begin with time for prayer and Scripture reading based on our itinerary that day. We will visit the sites with the greatest historical significance that illuminate the biblical account of Jesus’ life. At each site we will offer an overview of the history and archaeology and then conclude with a time of biblical reflection and prayer. Most days we will pause at a meaningful place for worship, teaching, and sharing. The evenings will alternate between opportunities for worship, processing in small groups, and free time

The group will be limited to 40 people so we can get to know each other and to facilitate more flexible movement in one coach. We will stay in quality accommodation within walking distance of the ancient walled city of Jerusalem and on the peaceful shore of the Sea of Galilee.

Tour Guides and Companions

The tour is led by Bishop Stephen Hale and Melinda Dwight.

Stephen Hale

Stephen has been the Lead Minister of the St Hilary’s Network since 2009 having left his post of Bishop of the Eastern Region of the Anglican Church. Stephen is married to Karen and they have 2 adult children.

Melinda Dwight

Melinda Dwight is the National Director for Alpha Australia. Melinda’s heart is to see people follow Jesus. She has travelled to Israel three times previously.

Travel extensions

You are very welcome to extend your stay or continue on elsewhere after the tour. We do however strongly recommend that all additional arrangements only be made once the tour is GUARANTEED to depart (having met minimum numbers).

If you are taking the full package and wish you amend the group fights there is a $150 fee plus any other taxes or charges.

Mission Travel is a full service travel agency and can assist you with all additional arrangements. This makes your holiday experience much easier with all bookings held by the same agent.

 

Frequent Flyer program

The  Emirates Frequent Flyer program is called Skywards. It is free to join online at www.emirates.com

Qantas members can also add their membership number however you accrue reduced points.

Once you have joined up or if you are already a member please provide Mission Travel of the number so that you will accrue frequent flyer points for this trip.

Passports and visas

Australian passport holders DO NOT require a visa for Israel. A visa is required for Jordan and this will be processed as part of the tour and the costs are included. 

Please forward a Photocopy of your current passport front photo & information page (as soon as possible) if you have not already done so. Passports must have 6 months validity from the return date of travel and at least 4 blank pages. If you are travelling on any Passport other than an Australian passport please notify us immediately as visa requirements may change.

Rooming

Prices are based on a twin shared room containing two single beds. A request to share is accepted at the time of booking. Clients electing to twin share with an unknown partner of the same gender do so in the full knowledge that Mission Travel Group cannot guarantee the compatibility or medical fitness of your room mate. A single supplement surcharge will apply at the time of booking. This surcharge will be refunded if Mission Travel is able to provide a suitable partner.

Travel insurance

It is mandatory to have travel insurance and it is strongly recommended to take out a policy at the time of paying your deposit.

Travel vaccinations

Mission Travel does not advise on travel vaccinations. Please consult with your GP or check out www.traveldoctor.com.au about relevant vaccinations.
Please ensure you have an up to date tetanus shot.

Booking and payment deadlines

 A non-refundable deposit of $500 is payable to secure your place n the tour.

The balance of payment is due 90 days prior to departure which is on or before Monday 6 February 2017. An invoice will be forwarded to you prior to this date.
Payments made by Credit cards incur fees (1.2% for Visa/Mastercard & 3.2% for American Express).
Direct deposits into our Bank account & cheques are ‘welcome.

Cancellation penalties

The $500 deposit is non refundable.
If the tour is cancelled by Mission Travel (due to lack of number or security concerns) your deposit will be refunded.

Cancellation 90-45 days prior to departure – 25% cancellation fee of total tour cost

Cancellation less than 45 days prior to departure or once the tour has commenced – NO REFUND

It is vital that you are adequately insured for unforeseen cancellation.
